The release

A 29-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly shot at another vehicle in Gordon last night, striking a teenage passenger and causing serious injuries.

About 10pm (Friday, 9 October 2026), four teenagers were travelling in a red Ford Falcon along Abrahams Crescent and Beaumaris Street, Conder, when they came upon a red Hyundai i30 hatchback.

The driver of the Hyundai followed the Ford along Tom Roberts Avenue to the intersection of Box Hill Avenue and Tharwa Drive and allegedly shot at the other vehicle, striking a passenger in the back seat.

The occupants called police who told the driver to attend Tuggeranong Police Station.

Officers from the station provided first aid to the teenager before he was transported to hospital by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics with serious injuries.

A crime scene was established in Conder and about 11:30pm, police observed a man climb out of a bush on Greaves Place and get into a waiting red Audi.
