The release

Two men have been charged following an alleged fatal stabbing in Sydney's west last week.

Shortly before 9pm on Friday 9 October 2026, emergency services were called to Cleeve Close, Mt Druitt, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended and located a 36-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his torso.

Officers rendered assistance to the man prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, under Strike Force Lanilo.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested two boys – aged 13 and 16 – in Mount Druitt and Cabramatta.

Following further inquiries, about 5.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 13 October 2026), an 18-year-old man was arrested at an address in Mulgoa and taken to St Mary’s Police Station.

About 9.45pm the same day, investigators arrested a 35-year-old man in Mount Druitt before he was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

They were both refused bail, with the 18-year-old man to appear before Penrith Local Court and the 35-year-old man to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court.
