The release

A man has been arrested after an alleged carjacking in Sydney's CBD.

About 9pm (Thursday 8 October 2026), emergency services were called to the intersection of King and Pitt Streets, Sydney, following reports of a carjacking.

Police were told a man approached the driver of a Mazda sedan – a woman aged in her 20s – before allegedly stealing the vehicle and driving along George Street. The woman was not injured.
