The release
A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly fatally stabbed in the state’s northwest this morning.
About 2.15am (Thursday 29 October 2026), emergency services were called to a unit on Rockvale Road, Armidale, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to New England Police District attended and found a woman – aged in her 40s – with multiple stab wounds.
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident have commenced.
A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Armidale Police Station.
